FiNAN to Hold Open Dialogue on Workplace Rights for Filipino Nurses in Northern Finland

The Finnish Filipino Nurses Association (FiNAN), together with its partners, will organize an open discussion for Filipino nurses living and working in Finland on November 7, 2026, at 16:00 in Rovaniemi, Northern Finland. The gathering will provide a safe and welcoming space for Filipino nurses to ask questions, share workplace experiences, and receive reliable information about their rights and responsibilities under Finnish law.

The discussion comes as more Filipino healthcare professionals continue to relocate to Finland and seek guidance on employment-related concerns. Topics will include human and labour rights, employment contracts, salaries and wages, fair work scheduling, shift allocation, employer obligations, and residency-related matters, including questions surrounding the 3–6 month rule and its possible implications for residence status. Participants will also have the opportunity to raise other concerns they may be experiencing in their workplaces.

Through open dialogue and information sharing, FiNAN and its partners aim to strengthen awareness of Finnish labour standards, help nurses better understand their rights, and encourage mutual support within the Filipino nursing community. The event is open to all Filipino nurses in Finland, whether newly arrived or long-time residents, and seeks to foster a more informed, connected, and empowered professional community.
